The Lizard Lake restoration effort has
lost one of its leading advocates for the lake.
My cousin and very good friend,
Lenny Schachtner of Belvidere, Illinois passed away Nov. 19, 2007
after a battle with cancer.
Lenny had been involved in restoring Lizard Lake since 1990. He
was a member of the Lizard Lake restoration committee and
contributed a huge amount of time and effort to see the lake
dredged and restored. He continued to talk about the lake until
the very end. He never gave up on his dream of seeing the lake
dredged and restored to its once pristine beauty.
He will be greatly missed.
